A nine-months pregnant Augusta woman was hospitalized Wednesday after being assaulted on First Street, according to a Richmond County Sheriff’s Office incident report.

The woman told police that around 9:30 Wednesday night, a 31-year-old black man from Clearwater punched her in the face several times for unknown reasons. When authorities arrived, the man had left.

The victim said she will prosecute the suspect, whom she identified to police, and was then taken by ambulance to Medical College of Georgia for examination and treatment.

AND??

With this taking place on Wednesday - today being Friday - is there anything else to report on it or is that it? Waste of time and space.

Augusta law enforcement

Augusta law enforcement doesn't particularly like going after face-punchers for some odd reason. I hope her and her baby will be okay.
