Richmond County sheriff’s Sgt. Dan Carrier said deputies were called to Alter Ego’z, 1721 Gordon Highway, at 2:18 a.m. after shots were fired there.

According to a police report, a fight broke out inside the club between Marcus Washington and Devin Washington, two Beech Island men with no known relation.

The fight was broken up, and both men were leaving the club when Marcus Washington took a gun from the vehicle he arrived in and fired several shots at Devin Washington, according to authorities.

Pr’Shawn Williams, who arrived at the club with Devin Washington, was shot once in the head and once in the upper leg. He was taken to Medical College of Georgia Hospital, where he died at 3 p.m.

Police are now searching for both Washingtons. Warrants have been filed for Marcus Washington for murder and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.

Anyone with any information about either man is asked to contact the sheriff’s office at (706) 821-1080. Information on Marcus Washington, who is considered armed and dangerous, should be directed to a violent-crimes investigator.

One more reason to avoid that part of Gordon Highway.

It's become a cesspool. T-Bones left for a reason. As did the mall. How many shootings at the Krystal that were there? If someone in ARC government doesn't step up and start spreading the tax money around instead of hoarding it all downtown this area will continue to decline. Sad, cause it used to be a nice area to shop and hang out.

And the crime in Augusta

And the crime in Augusta continues down the same road. We now see drug drops being made in out West Augusta neighborhood. They are in and out too fast for cops to catch them once called. We're just waiting for the shooting to begin next.

It's your right to own a gun and to use it to protect life liberty and property of which none of these applied

Only a coward would pull a gun during a fight. And no surprise... he already had a mugshot!!!!

Condolences to the family of Mr. Williams.

I'm sure everything was legal too...

I'm sure that Marcus Washington had his weapons license with him. And I'm sure that the gun in question was legitimately purchased from a gun store; and it has a valid intact serial number... Stupid punk. Let's see if the jury has the guts to render a visit with the needle. BTW: I've seen him before.
