An Augusta man was charged with aggravated assault Tuesday in connection with an afternoon stabbing incident on Cleveland Street.

Calvin Gilmore, of the 1600 block of Cleveland Street, told sheriff’s deputies he got into an argument with a man who stabbed him in the neck and cut his arm. Gilmore, 50, said the assailant also hit him in the head with a board.

Gilmore was taken to Medical College of Georgia Hospital for treatment.

Deputies arrested Tyrone Kettles, 34, at his home on Cedar Street. Kettles was being held at the Richmond County jail without bond Wednesday.
