An Augusta mother convicted of allowing her 3-year-old son to fatally ingest prescription methadone was denied a new trial Monday.
Alana Johnson is serving life in prison after a jury found her guilty in September of felony murder for the death her son Shane in 2010. She was acquitted of a second felony murder charge.
Superior Court Judge James Blanchard denied the new trial motion.
