A man was arrested Thursday night and charged with robbing a Martinez bank earlier in the day.
Ted Screws, 44, is accused of handing a First Bank of Georgia teller a note and a homemade device, Columbia County sheriff’s Capt. Steve Morris said. The Richmond County bomb squad was notified, Morris said.
Screws, of the 300 block of Sally Drive, was being held in the Columbia County Detention Center charged with armed robbery. No bond had been set.
