A man was arrested Thursday night and charged with robbing a Martinez bank earlier in the day.

Ted Screws, 44, is accused of handing a First Bank of Georgia teller a note and a homemade device, Columbia County sheriff’s Capt. Steve Morris said. The Richmond County bomb squad was notified, Morris said.

Screws, of the 300 block of Sally Drive, was being held in the Columbia County Detention Center charged with armed robbery. No bond had been set.

I read elsewhere that there was a bomb and the bomb squad set it off outside of the building. Good grief, people are sure crazy!

You gotta hand it to the crooks... they sure know what businesses to hit... those who don't care about safety with their low rate security cameras. How can anyone identify some of these criminals when the business doesn't want us to actually SEE them.
