Neal and her ex-husband, Joe Neal Jr., were indicted in March on those charges after a 18-year-old baby sitter accused them of sexual assault in December.
The case went to trial two weeks ago, but Joe Neal abruptly accepted a plea bargain after a morning of testimony from the accuser detailed sexually explicit text messages between him and the teenager the day after the alleged rape. He received three years’ probation and 100 hours of community service at a sewage plant for his guilty plea to three misdemeanors.
Caroline Neal was scheduled to testify at her ex-husband’s trial. The accuser said Caroline Neal invited her over to their house on Kings Way for “girl talk” and a glass of wine and participated in an attempted threesome.
Her attorney, Pete Theodocion, confirmed Tuesday that a deal had been made and that sentencing would follow at a later date.
