A Jackson man was arrested Monday on attempted murder charges for shooting a teenager Saturday.

At 4:41 a.m. Saturday, Aiken County sheriff’s deputies were called to Cary Drive, where they found a 16-year-old in the backseat of a vehicle with a gunshot wound to the head.

Other passengers in the vehicle said they were heading to buy drugs when shots were fired into the car.

The teen is being treated at Medical College of Georgia Hospital. His condition has not been released.

Jamal Wykeen Beal, 21, of the 300 block of Runs Creek Drive in Jackson, has been booked into the Aiken County Detention Center on charges of possession of a weapon during the commission of a crime, attempted murder and attempted distribution of marijuana.

Sounds like a drug deal gone bad. Either the kids decided to make a get away with the dope without paying or the pusher was attempting to collect a debt from a previous transaction.

So hard to find reputable pushers and good, honest users, these days.

He shouldn't have been shot, but he shouldn't have been there either.
