An Evans woman is in jail after police say she stabbed a man during an argument at the Washington Road Travelodge.
Investigators said the suspect, Kari Nicole Lamar, 23, was knocking on random doors on the first floor of the motel at 3039 Washington Road around 3:30 a.m. Sunday.
The victim, William Patrick Berry, 48, who lives at the motel, told deputies he woke to find his live-in girlfriend standing at their door arguing with Lamar about being too loud and waking residents. Berry pulled his girlfriend inside and shoved Lamar out of the doorway.
Police said Lamar then pulled out a pocket knife and stabbed Berry in the back two times, puncturing a lung.
Lamar was booked Monday into the Richmond County Jail on an aggravated assault charge.
