Aiken County authorities said a man was attacking a woman Sunday evening when he was shot by her husband.
According to an incident report, Corey Logan Solomon, 21, of Gregg Avenue in Aiken, was at the home of 32-year-old Nicholas Eugene Cribb on the 400 block of Gooseneck Road about 10 p.m. when he became irate and started shoving Cribb’s wife, Erica.
Authorities said Cribb had picked Solomon up after a DUI arrest. The report did not indicate how long Solomon was jailed on the DUI charge.
Cribb punched Solomon in the face after Solomon shoved his wife.
Solomon then threw the woman to the ground and began choking her. Police said Cribb got a revolver and shot Solomon in the leg inside the home. Solomon was still choking the woman when he was shot.
When deputies arrived they found Solomon lying next to his vehicle. Witnesses told authorities they believe he tried to get a gun from the vehicle. He was taken to Medical College of Georgia Hospital.
No arrests have been made.
Solomon’s and Cribb’s guns have been confiscated. Police said Cribb’s gun was stolen from Richland County, S.C.
