EDGEFIELD, S.C. — A 22-year-old has been charged in the stabbing death of an Edgefield man.

John David Herndon was booked into the Edgefield County Jail on murder charges after authorities found Mark Justin Meadows, 28, dead.

Edgefield Police Chief Ronnie Carter said authorities were called about 10:30 p.m. to the 200 block of Holmes Street, where they discovered Meadows’ body.

Meadows, of the 700 block of Main Street, had been stabbed once in the throat and twice in the stomach, Carter said.
