Authorities are calling the weekend death of a Washington, Ga., man a homicide.

Autopsy results Tuesday on Fermer Corman “Butch” Dent, 63, verified that he was killed, according to a statement from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, which is assisting the Wilkes County Sheriff’s Office. A firearm was used in the homicide, according to the GBI.

Dent’s body was discovered by his wife about 7 p.m. Sunday at their home on Bellewood Drive near the Washington Country Club.
