Two men pleaded guilty Thursday to charges related to the homicide of an 81-year-old man who was shot while watching television in May 2011.

Tracy Lindsey received 25 years in prison in exchange for a plea to armed robbery and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime. Artavious Fezzel accepted a sentence of life in prison with the possibility of parole as part of his plea to murder.

The two pleas leave only Joseph L. Jordan, who is suspected of pulling the trigger, with an outstanding case. The defendants who pleaded guilty Tuesday agreed to testify at his trial, which could start next month.

A fourth defendant, Rufus Khalid-Durand Van, pleaded guilty March 29 for his role in the robbery and received 20 years in prison.

The defendants said in court Thursday that Jordan fired one shot through the kitchen window of Johnny Luckey’s home on Hoods Lane while Luckey sat on the couch and watched TV. The teenagers believed Luckey kept cash around his house. Before they left, Luckey was shot once more.

Such a sad case.....they all

Such a sad case.....they all deserve more than what they have gotten in my opinion. To live to be 81 years old and to be murdered in the safety of your own home is just horrible and the poor man didn't even have any money......

Johnny Luckey

He is my father. I know the time doesn't suit the crime, but with the age of those boys, it was good considering if it had gone to trial and then a mother could have sat on the jury and then feel sympathy for the defendents and then them not get anything. It was tough yesterday, but we did get to say what we wanted to in the courtroom. We have a trial set for the shooter and hopefully after it is over, we can start a healing process of a kind. This area has no support groups for people like us and others that have suffered like tragedy. We continue to pray and hold on to each other.....

For future reference, the staff writers need to get the date of the murder correct. It was May 6, 2011, NOT March.
