Thomson’s police chief resigned Monday, and his last day will be May 23.

WTHO, a Thomson radio station, reported that the city council unanimously accepted Chief Joe Nelson’s resignation Monday. The council will hold a meeting early next week to discuss the need for an interim chief and steps to find a replacement.

City council members could not be reached for comment Monday night.

Secrets ?

Evidently not something he and or Council wanted known and reason may or may not be hidden from the press.

Question???

Wasn't there something about a year ago about inappropriate email and someone being fired for being pregnant or something to that affect? Not sure how long ago as time flies.....

stillamazed I think you are right.

Not sure about the pregnancy but it seems that a city employee had difficulty with drinking and driving a city vehicle at the same time! It also seems like this person was stopped by the Thomson PD and allowed to go home and maybe even given a ride. Won't mind if someone corrects me!
