An 18-year-old man has been charged in the Friday night shooting of a 20-year-old Augusta man.

Richmond County sheriff’s investigators said shots were fired during an argument about 11 p.m. in the 2000 block of Florida Road in the Hyde Park area, where a large group of people had gathered.

Demarcus Brown was taken to Medical College of Georgia Hospital with a gunshot wound to the leg. Investigators said he remains in stable condition.

Santonio Brown, who is not related to the victim, turned himself in to the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office on Sunday. He was booked on charges of aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.

culture of violence nothing

culture of violence nothing more...race has absolutely nothing to do with this..question....where are the so-called religious leaders, the concerned college students, the neighborhood leaders, most of all where are the "justice brothas" rev Al and Jessie???? oh yeah that's right this is only black on black crime, can't pass the collection plate to get filled, or get on television, or have a "hoodie" march/protest because black-on-black crime is a non-issue or important enuff to be concerned about or preached about from the pulpit. might drive family members of the thugs away from the church and take their money/offerings/tithes down the the next church...easier and more profitable to blame the "white man" instead of addressing the real problem that is destroying the black community (not placing importance on education, black-on-black crime, and dependence on gov't, out of control unwed births into single parent-mostly women households)
