One person was shot on the 2000 block of Florida Road late Friday night, authorities said.

Around 11 p.m., a group of around 20 people were gathered in the street when shots were fired. One person was taken to the Medical College of Georgia Hospital in a personal vehicle, deputies said.

The victim suffered a leg wound, deputies said, but the extent of the injury was not immediately known Friday night.

Warm nights = Large groups = Shot victim(s)

It took a while for me to make the connection but I've finally deduced that warm nights seem to lead to large groups of young teens and adults loitering around in streets throughout Augusta. Then the next morning we are reading and hearing from the local media about the street fights, gunfights, and drive-by shootings. I'm now wondering if any of those members of Augusta's best who are out riding around on patrol duty during the hours of darkness have yet made that connection. They certainly have made that connection in the high-crime areas of urban Chicago.

Missing The Blame

Obviously PK007 has gotten this all wrong. Global warming is to blame. Cooler nights. Folk inside. Problem averted.

I wanted to take this chance

I wanted to take this chance to report something that is about to replace our now normal gun shots. With the bow and arrow craze starting there is also a trend starting on crossbows/this introduction should alarm many as it will be much harder to identify the assailants.
