Poor guy. He was just a

Poor guy. He was just a couple of years too early. We are in the "taxation without benefits" phase of Obamacare now. In a couple of years when the benefits start phasing in, reproductive health care devices will be free. Not only will he not need to shoplift condoms in the coming glory days, he would not be able to steal them if he wanted to. You can't steal free stuff.

BSNM, here is a list of services provided free of charge. Interfaith Hospitality Network of Augusta provides overnight shelter for families through participating congregations. The congregations take turns as hosts on a rotating schedule.

For transistional housing, they may require a low fee.

Garden City Rescue Mission is a day shelter and only offer overnight stays. They are asked to leave the facility during the day. Case management is often provided and sometimes there are laundry and shower facilities. Meals and basic hygiene may also be offered. Almost all day shelters provide their services free of charge.

Love of God Ministries serves the homeless from noon to 2 p.m. every Monday with a worship service followed by a meal at the Broad Street Ministry Center.

Salvation Army is classified as an emergency shelter and provides emergency shelter, meals, food, clothing, utilities payment assitance along with a free clinic for people without health insurance. They are open 24 hours a day.

ICL, that is an impressive list. But the guy didn't steal food, clothing, or housing. At least the guy exhibits some responsibility for his other needs, albiet through thievery. Although, $128 seems like a lot at one time. Wish I would have know he was in need...I could have helped. I got some that are about to expire.

palmetto, I understand that this guy didn't steal food, clothing or housing. If you would go back and read the thread, the comment was made that it's possible he was hungry. I commented that there are plenty of places he could have gotten a free meal instead of resorting to crime. Then BSNM requested that I provide a list of FREE places for food and shelter, hence my latest comment but glad you took the time to read my comment. Yes, there are several places in the area that provide services for the less fortunate.
