Derek Blue, 31, does not have the option of parole during his prison sentence and will serve 10 years’ probation upon release. He must also pay a $300,000 fine.

On Aug. 4, 2011, Richmond County narcotics investigators served a search warrant at Blue’s home on Lucky Street and arrested his co-defendant Tessamena Walker, 33, on charges of trafficking in cocaine and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime. Blue was arrested three days later when a patrol deputy noticed a car parked at a home that was supposed to be unoccupied.

Walker pleaded guilty Tuesday in exchange for a 17-year prison sentence but refused to testify against Blue, whom she professed to love during sentencing. Assistant District Attorney Parks White said after Thursday’s trial that the sheriff’s narcotics unit “did a great job taking a recalcitrant drug dealer off the street.”

4 time felon?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? what is it going to take for augusta/state of ga. to get a 1-2 strike law to get these "wonderful and responsible" citizens off the streets for good. let me guess the other 3 times he was convicted and sent to jail "he really didn't mean it, he was just tryin to feed his family" or "racism made him do it"
