Richmond County authorities are searching for two men after an armed robbery at a Wrightsboro Road fast food restaurant early Monday morning.

According to an incident report, three employees were leaving Wendy’s, 3342 Wrightsboro Road, around 1:40 a.m. when they were approached in the parking lot by two men in ski masks – one with a handgun – demanding the bank deposit bag.

After the employees convinced the men that they didn’t have the bag, the men took cell phones and keys and then fled on foot. Police said the keys to the restaurant were not among the items taken.

The victims told authorities they believe the bandits were hiding in the bushes waiting for them to come out of the restaurant.

Well, I guess you can rule

Well, I guess you can rule out an "inside job", right? I'm just glad nobody was hurt.

Well, after the Masters Week

Well, after the Masters Week argument between 15 women at the Wrightsboro Road Waffle House that led to gunfire; it is clear that the crime center of Augusta has moved to Wrightsboro Road & Bobby Jones Expressway. Be careful.

On the TV crime shows,

On the TV crime shows, stealing a cell phone is the beginning of the end for the criminal. As soon as the criminal tries to use the cell phone, the cops will triangulate using cell phone tower information and be able to pinpoint the location of the cell phone and swoop in on the location in a matter of minutes with five police cruisers with sirens blaring. These perps are as good as in handcuffs today.

Correction. The title makes

Correction. The title makes you believe that the restaurant was robbed when in fact the employees were robbed on the outside while walking to their vehicles. Glad they are okay.

Oh, great job, Little Lamb!

Oh, great job, Little Lamb! Now you tipped off the criminal! You told him how the po-po is going to catch him when he uses "his" new cellphone! Well, I guess this is only IF the criminal is well-read and likes to keep up with current events by perusing the daily newspaper articles. Okay....yeah, never mind.

This is the same sort of

This is the same sort of incident that happened to my son just days later when he and his co-workers were leaving their fast food restaurant at 12:15 am on Walton Way. Of course, Augusta Chronicle did not report the incident correctly and made my son look uncooperative when, in fact, the officers said that having no cameras in the parking lot would make it nearly impossible to locate the robber. Don't robbers know that late night food places don't carry out bank bags? How dumb would that be!?!
