Lt. Blaise Dresser said Laquan Blackwell entered a home on the 1400 block of Sycamore Drive with a gun drawn and demanded his 1-year-old daughter from the child’s mother.

Dresser said there had been some animosity between the child’s parents but he wasn’t sure of the cause.

The child was later located unharmed at a relative’s home on Jennifer Court.

Blackwell was taken into custody without incident just after noon, according to a police bulletin.
