A South Carolina man was killed Monday night when he was thrown from an all-terrain vehicle onto Skyland Farm Road in Aiken County and run over.

The man, Robert Lee Hallinquest, 43, was a person of interest in a burglary that occurred four minutes before at 9:36 p.m. and items from the burglary were found at the scene of the wreck, Aiken County Coroner Tim Carlton said.

Investigators determined Hallinquest was traveling north on Skyland Farm Road when he was thrown from the ATV. He ended up in the southbound lane, where an oncoming driver said he saw Hallinquest lying in the road and missed hitting him. A second vehicle couldn’t avoid Hallinquest, though, and ran over him, the coroner said.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol continues to investigate. This is the eighth fatal crash in Aiken County this year.

Dang, this sounds bad all the way around..But if he was the thief from that burglary there will be no need for lawyers and courts to dole out justice...
May his soul rest in peace....

Ya know, karma doesn't always

Ya know, karma doesn't always wait around for another day.... if he really was the burglar. I heard of a case a year or two ago where a burglar got interrupted and in his attempt to flee the residence fell and broke his neck, literally.

If this is a 43 year old man

If this is a 43 year old man who got killed through his own negligence while fleeing a petty burglary, then I have no sympathy except for the person who accidentally ran over him. Hope there was no damage to their vehicle.
