A grand jury indicted Michael John Lynce this week on charges that he robbed someone at gunpoint then claimed he was an undercover officer to get a hotel room.

An indictment says Lynce pointed a replica handgun at his victim on Jan. 26 and took money from him. On that same day, he told a clerk at Candlewood Suites Hotel that he was an undercover officer and needed a hotel room, the indictment alleges.

Lynce is charged with impersonating a public officer, terroristic threats and armed robbery.

Also this week, Michael Spivey was charged with first-degree forgery for reportedly writing a false check worth $2,260.39 using the alias “Dr. Smellgood.”
