Man arrested after stolen goods found

Charles Larke Jr. was arrested Monday after deputies uncovered a large amount of stolen items in his vehicle.

Larke, the 28-year-old son of former Richmond County schools Superintendent Charles Larke, has been charged with theft by receiving stolen property and three counts of financial card transaction theft.

Richmond County sheriff’s Investigator David Dutton said officers were called to the Motel 6, 201 Boy Scout Road, for suspicious activity. Later they discovered stolen items including, cell phones, stereos, gaming systems, credit cards and a set of golf clubs, in the back of a white Lincoln belonging to Larke. Some of the items had been reported stolen earlier that day.

Dutton said Larke claimed he had bought the items from a man at a convenience store.

Larke has a history of charges with the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office.

SAPCS - What does Larke Sr.

SAPCS - What does Larke Sr. raising his kid or our kids have to do with this? Larke Jr. is a GROWN MAN! The raising of his childhood doesn't necessarily reflect on his behavior as an adult!! There are lots of people that came from well respected families and ended up being a disgrace to the family!

Agreed River, you can't blame

Agreed River, you can't blame parents for the actions of a 28 year old man. Good job to the RCSO for properly following through on the call and recovering the stolen property.

That's true. Some children

That's true. Some children rise above, some children fall, no matter how they are raised. These types of choices by their children must break honest, moral parents' hearts.

hey daddy, now go out and get a high priced lawyer for your poor son who will claim "racism" instead of recommending your son be sent to jail where he belongs..

It's especially true for the children of "perfect" parents. Trying to live up to expectations can be too much for those who don't have the ability or feel the need.
