Harlem teen trial airing on TruTV

The February trial of a Harlem teen accused of shooting his 14-year-old friend and neighbor began airing Tuesday on TruTV.

CNN’s InSession covered Lacy Aaron’s Schmidt’s week-long trial that ended with a murder conviction on Feb. 10. Authorities say then 14-year-old Schmidt shot and killed Alana May Calahan on Jan. 31, 2011, as she sat at the computer inside her home on Miles Road near Harlem.

A judge sentenced Schmidt, 15, to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

Coverage of the trial began airing Tuesday and is expected air on TruTV from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays through April 16. TruTV is Comcast channel 69 and channel 40 for Knology customers.

The trial coverage includes live and taped interviews with key players in the trial including Alana’s mother and the prosecutor, Assistant District Attorney Natalie Paine. The show also includes play-by-play coverage of the trial including testifying witnesses.
