Emanuel County school bus driver shot to death

An Emanuel County, Ga., school bus driver was killed and a suspect has been named, authorities said.

Around 8 p.m. Sunday night, Swainsboro officers found the body of 49-year-old Robert Parrish Jr. in a vacant lot at Gumlog Road and Wrens Street, Emanuel County Coroner Walter Peebles said.

Peebles said Parrish was shot in the head “several times,” and his body was taken to Augusta on Monday morning for an autopsy. He said the death was ruled a homicide, and he is waiting for toxicology results.

A jail representative said a suspect, Jhakeem Armstrong, has not yet been arrested.

Dang that's some great detective work. What was the clue that led to it being ruled a homicide?

All my family who lives in

All my family who lives in Swainsboro said that Mr. Parrish was a well known well liked man and had been driving the bus for some years. My sister works for the school in Swainsboro and says he was a good man. Apparently there was a party and he said something that the other man did not like and he was shot. Unless something else comes out to prove different he was supposedly a good man. Prayers to his family.

Parties, alcohol and fights

Parties, alcohol and fights end in disaster all too often! And I wasn't there but you can bet on my three variables!

This is tragic news for many

This is tragic news for many of us. I know Armstrong personally and surprised at this news. I pray for all involved in this horrible mess, and especially sorry that a life has been lost. Jhakeem must be extremely upset over this ordeal. Myself like so many others hate that this has happened. I am utterly in complete shock...
