Around midnight, police were called to the 300 block of Smith Hardy Road in reference to shots being fired. When Aiken County deputies arrived, they were told a female bouncer, Erica Judge, of Avalon Lane, was patting down a male when she found that he was carrying a gun, an Aiken County sheriff’s report says.
Judge and another witness, Anthony Mayes, of Storm Branch Road, got into a fight with him when he started shooting. Witnesses heard five shots and people ran away.
The report says that when people started running, witnesses noticed Mayes had been shot twice in the back, and Brittney Rivers, of Maple Street, had been grazed in the head. Police arrived, and Mayes and Rivers were taken to a hospital.
Witnesses told deputies that a third person, Reggie Garrett, of Storm Branch Road, had been shot in the torso and was being taken to a hospital in a car.
About 20 minutes later, a North Augusta Public Safety officer pulled over a vehicle on Jefferson Davis Highway for speeding to discover Garrett in the passenger seat with a gunshot wound. An ambulance was called to take him to a hospital.
The Aiken County Sheriff’s Office has not named any suspects, and all three victims had injuries not considered life-threatening, Capt. Troy Elwell said.
