Two teens raped and sodomized a woman in her Harrisburg home while her five young children were present, police said.

Richmond County deputies were called to a Edgar Street home just after 3 p.m. Tuesday to investigate a home invasion.

The victim, described as being in her 20s, told investigators a young man identified later as Sam Samuel, 16, of Ellis Street, knocked on her door looking for someone called “Ole Boy,” sheriff’s Sgt. Dan Carrier said.

While the woman was speaking with the man, another man, whom police identified as Zachary Albright, 18, of Ridge Road, forced his way in with a gun. Police said Samuel and Albright ransacked the woman’s home and then raped and sodomized her in the presence of her children, who range in age from 18 months to 6 years.

Carrier said investigators learned three other youths were involved and one, Antonio McBride, 16, of Ellis Street, accompanied the two assailants. McBride was charged as an adult with armed robbery.

Sheriff's Lt. Blaise Dresser said investigators worked all night to track down the suspects in the assault. Dresser said the woman's children witnessed "some things at different times," but given their ages it wasn't certain if any were in the room while their mother was being assaulted.

Investigators were able to obtain "great physical evidence" from the scene and incriminating statements from several of the teens, he said.

Samuel and Albright were charged with armed robbery, rape and aggravated sodomy in connection with the assault. Albright was also charged with possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.

All the juvenile suspects are being held at the Regional Youth Detention Center. Albright is being held at the Charles B. Webster Detention Center.

The Def Atty will bring up

The Def Atty will bring up the 5 kids at age 20. The commenter didn't reveal anything that we didn't already know would be brought up. Their tact and context may not have been ideal. All i can really add is that the crimes are becoming more aggravated and the perps are getting younger. This stinks.

I don't care how many kids

I don't care how many kids she had at only 20 years old. Her sexual responsibility or 'irresponsibility' have NOTHING TO DO with the fact that she was attacked and abused and traumatized, and her children were traumatized as well. Reading that comment just incensed me.

it's completely ridiculous to say it has anything whatsoever to do with the fact that she's 20 with five kids. for one thing, the article doesn't even say 20. it says in her 20's. that's a ten year span, my upright citizen yappers.
i'd like to see this panel of geniuses puzzle out their judgments without any clues to race or socio-economic standing. we'd have a lot different population in the jails, methinks.

I have a statement for all of you that are so insensitive to this young lady. If it were your mother in this situation how many of you would be making these tasteless comments. Al and Jesse do not need to be here. RCSO are doing just fine with this case. I do commend our RCSO for being on top of this crime and not putting it under a rug as some of you would probably would do.

I can't believe there are few comments trying to compare Zimmerman and Martin with this senseless incident! Her economic status or the number of children gives no individual the right to violate anyone's home or body. Praying for her family and the ignorant.

Some people! What does Jesse

Some people! What does Jesse and Al have to do with a rape, sodomy and robbery case? Although aspects of this may be civil to some degree but does not have anything to do with the civil rights of an individual or group and them being denied due process of the law. Anytime any crime occurs and a black is involved some people want to mention Jessie and Al's name. Why? It's just silly. The individuals that commited the crimes mentioned above were caught and I'm sure Jessie or Al won't lose a moments sleep on them doing time. And to be honest neither will any of you lose any sleep over them.

As I read some of these

As I read some of these comments, I am saddened to say that I live in this racist city of Augusta. What does Al and Jesse have to do with anything? I'm a black man and I there is no doubt that these boys who committed this crime should be punished. They're pathetic! The Trayvon Martin issue that has the Black community in an uproar is totally different from this case. Stop trying to take advantage of opportunities to make Black people look like we are wrong in our judgment. This was wrong and the murder of Trayvon was wrong. Period.

Unpublished

People are fed up with the thug culture that exists in the African American community. It's not about race, it's about the thug subculture that is both tolerated and promoted within the African American community. But if you point out the content of their character, they'll accuse you of referring to the color of their skin. Thus, you can't criticize the thug culture without being accused of being racist, in their eyes. And so it continues and nothing changes.
