A Martinez man found hiding under a truck Monday morning now faces a variety of charges.

According to a Richmond County Sheriff’s Office report, deputies were called to Southern Mechanical Inc., 3072 Damascus Road, around 4:30 a.m. Monday for an alarm activation. They found Todd Anthony Robert, 31, lying under a truck in a fenced-in area.

Todd told deputies he jumped the fence to take a short-cut to a friend’s home on Bayvale Road. Deputies, however, found copper tubing that had been tossed over the fence surrounding the property.

Robert was booked into the Richmond County Jail on charges of criminal trespass, possession of tools for the commission of a crime and two counts of entering an automobile to commit a theft.
