Keith Levert Polite was charged with felony and malice murder in connection with the Oct. 6, 2010, death of Terrence Lamont Turner.
Turner, 16, was driving a car and crashed through a fence at Dewitt and Douglas streets after he was shot in the head. He later died at Medical College of Georgia Hospital.
Polite is also charged with possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
Also Tuesday, the grand jury charged Justin Eric Dunn, Rodriquez Dontrey Dunn and Detrich D’Antonio Cooper in the death of Marquette Maurice Woods on June 16, 2011. Woods, 32, was shot and killed in the 200 block of Aragon Drive.
All three are charged with felony and malice murder, three counts of possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, armed robbery and aggravated assault. Justin Dunn faces additional charges of possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, a second count of aggravated assault and one count of criminal attempt to commit armed robbery.
Finally, a charge of serious injury by a motor vehicle was brought against Timothy Wayne Durham, who is accused of hitting a Richmond County sheriff’s deputy with his vehicle on Feb. 10, breaking the deputy’s hand and injuring his knee. Durham is also charged with five misdemeanors: DUI, excessive blood alcohol level, driving with an open container, driving without a seat belt and failure to yield while turning left.
