Augusta man arrested in window breakings at Olive Road church

An Augusta man is in jail after he broke 14 windows in an Olive Road church, police said.

According to an incident report, police responded to Ebenezer Seventh Day Adventist Church, 1701 Olive Road, around 8:45 a.m. Sunday where they found Carl Stevie Daniel with a brick in his hands.

A witness who notified police confirmed Daniel, 29, was the man she saw breaking windows.

The damage has been estimated at $4,000.

Daniel has been charged with vandalism to a place of worship.
