An Evans man was arrested Tuesday after another man claimed he stabbed him.

Leon Harris, 58, of the 600 block of Mims Road, was charged with aggravated assault.

A 37-year-old Evans man said that without a confrontation Harris attacked him at a home on Mims Road, according to a Columbia County Sheriff’s office incident report.

The man met deputies in front of apartments at 622 Mims Road. The man had a cut about a quarter inch wide and more than an inch long in the middle of his back below the shoulder blades. He was taken to Doctors Hospital for treatment, according to the report.

Deputies answered the door to his apartment and the man positively identified Harris as his attacker.

There was no information available to explain the relationship between the men or a motive for the attack.

Harris is being held in the Columbia County Detention Center without bond, according to jail records.
