The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office announced the creation of a Facebook page for Augusta’s CSRA Metal Theft Task Force.

The page, announced by task force head Investigator Kendall Brown in an e-mail Monday, features articles about metal theft, suggestions for protecting personal property and even a warning from the Norfolk Southern Police Communications Center on the proper authorizations needed to legally possess railroad material.

As of 9:30 p.m. Monday, the site had 126 “likes.”

Put the whole RCSO on

Put the whole RCSO on Facebook would be a step in the right direction to community policing.

The site would have 127 likes if I could find it on Facebook. Perhaps the AC can post a link to that page. I searched to no avail... ~sigh~

Seriously, along the lines of

Seriously, along the lines of my first comment, put the entire RCSO on Facebook. Let every community offer input into law enforcement and crime in the neighborhood. Tips, criticism and praise passed back and forth between the community and officers. An electronic giant step to community policing.
