Two 15-year-olds stole a car and led police on a short chase before crashing Friday afternoon, authorities said.

Around 2:15 p.m., Roy Bender, the manager of Chuck E. Cheese’s on Wrightsboro Road, left his keys on a table at the restaurant while he went to grab something, Richmond County Capt. Scott Gay said. When he came back out the keys were gone.

Bender ran into the parking lot to see his car being driven east on Wrightsboro Road and called police. Two cars in the area quickly found the vehicle and chased it before it crashed.

No one was injured, Gay said.

Both teens, a girl and a boy, were booked into Augusta Regional Youth Detention Center.

Glad the little punks didn't hurt anyone. I hope they get a loooong time to think about what they have done. Neither one should get a license until they are 21 AND haven't had another single thing on their record those 6 years!!

Grand theft auto, driving

Grand theft auto, driving without a license, reckless driving, destruction of private property, and evading police. Keep them both at YDC until they are 21. Give them some time to sort things out. Bring all of their little friends down to visit them and see how "cool" they are. And have their parent(s) pay to repair or replace the man's car.

They're only 15. They should not be punished because they aren't mature enough to understand. Offer them free Chuck E. Cheese for life, home delivered, and give insurance, free college tuition to the school of their choice and dinner with daddy obama.
