The Georgia Bureau of Investigation continues its search for the person who killed a Burke County woman in her home Wednesday morning.

Special Agent in Charge Mike Ayers said investigators were out until 3 a.m. this morning conducting interviews regarding the death of 27-year-old Amy Ellison.

The mother of three was discovered dead in her home on Brigham Landing Road in Girard around 5 a.m. after the Burke County Sheriff’s Office was notified of gunfire in the area. Children were in the home at the time Ellison’s body was found but were unharmed.

Ayers would not confirm or deny if investigators have named a suspect in the death.

An autopsy on Ellison is planned.

im very concerned about this situation.. if there is no suspect shouldnt people be very worried ??? i mean if a cold blooded killer is on the loose it seems like it would be more of a big deal to everyone.
