Richmond County sheriff’s investigators said today they hope to obtain video of a robbery outside Bank of America, 1749 Gordon Highway, Tuesday evening.
According to a Sheriff’s Office incident report, a U-Haul employee was making a deposit around 7:30 p.m. at the drive-up night box when an unidentifed man grabbed the deposit.
The 40-year-old victim told authorities he struggled with the robber, then drove after the bandit as he ran through the parking lot with the money before escaping by running through a wooded field.
Police said there was no evidence of a weapon during the robbery.
The article should state that a UHAUL EMPLOYEE WAS ROBBED BY A MIDDLE-AGED BLACK MALE WEARING ALL BLACK CLOTHING. There was only one suspect involved wearing black clothing. The Uhaul employee was the victim.
I like the headline using "someone." It's like we don't know who was robbed. But this whole thing is just another robbery at a bank in Augusta. Ho hum. The age with John Dillinger has nothing on 2012 Augusta.
MELBO, this is the information we received last night from police. We are checking right now and will update the story if needed. Thanks for the tip.
