Aiken Public Safety is searching for a suspect in a hit-and-run incident that sent a mo-ped driver to the hospital.

About 10:20 p.m. Friday, a mo-ped traveling south on Whiskey Road near Tractor Supply Co. was hit by a gold-colored sedan. The sedan, also driving south, hit the mo-ped’s left rear side causing the mo-ped driver to lose control, Lt. David Turno said.

The sedan, which police said might be a Toyota Corolla, continued to travel south before making a U-turn north on Whiskey Road and leaving the accident scene.

The mo-ped driver was taken to Medical College of Georgia Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
