A Richmond County jury said Wednesday that John Manello is guilty of all the charges for which he was arrested in 2008 after his argument with a neighbor on Alene Circle.
An indictment said Manello lunged at his neighbor with a kitchen knife and threatened to burn down his house, which resulted in criminal charges of aggravated assault, possession of a knife during the commission of a crime and terroristic threats.
Manello ended up in a hospital intensive care unit, however, after he was hit with a garden hoe in what witnesses said was self-defense.
Manello faces a minimum 25-year sentence, but it’s up to a judge to decide today how much of that time will be divided between probation and prison.
Manello was taken into sheriff’s custody immediately after the verdict was returned Wednesday.
