The management company at River Glen apartments has released a statement regarding the third homicide at the complex since May.

“PK Management and the owners express their sympathy to the family and friend of Mr. (Truemaine) Jones in the tragic shooting last week. We will continue to work actively with law enforcement to ensure that the perpetrators of this crime are brought to justice. This property has an ongoing crime prevention program and we are seeking additional strategies to ensure our residents safety. Since the matter is still under investigation, we have no further comment.”

River Glen, a 192-unit housing complex on East Boundary, is considered Section 8 housing but is not owned by the Augusta Housing Authority.

The property is currently owned by River Glen Investors of Sherman Oaks, Calif., and managed by PK Management of Charlotte, N.C.

Jones, 27, was discovered dead from a gunshot wound in a parking lot at the complex on Feb. 5.

On Jan. 14, deputies discovered the body of Doniel Hicks, 24, also fatally shot.

There is a sheriff sub

There is a sheriff sub station on the property, but there is NEVER anyone there, just because the building is there and the sign won't deter crime...It's so obvious who cares about that area, the city has let that part of town just lapse into nothing...If they don't get somemone or some body there to either, take out the trash and let those who want to live there in peace and not scared to sleep.Have you ever seen the inside of those Apts they are awful, below substandard, when you have no money and no where else to go this where you have to be,safe or not...I pray that it won't be any children next time to get hurt!!
