Emanuel County man charged in wife's death

    A 46-year-old Emanuel County man has been charged in the Sunday murder of his wife.

    The Emanuel County Sheriff’s Office responded to the couple’s home on Ebenezer Church Road where they discovered Sherry Kirkland, 49, had been fatally shot.

    Her husband, George Walter Kirkland has been charged with murder and remains in the Emanuel County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center without bond.
