A 51-year-old man was stabbed in the head and hand by his ex-girlfriend in the 700 block of Broad Street at the Richmond Summit apartments, police said.

The call came in at 8:40 p.m. Monday for a domestic call at the complex. When deputies arrived, they found him with stab wounds to the head and hand. He was sent to the Medical College of Georgia Hospital where he is in serious condition, Richmond County Sheriff’s Lt. Robbie Silas said.

The ex-girlfriend had been kicked out previously, and had returned to get her things. She kicked in the door to the apartment, stabbed her ex-boyfriend and ran off, Silas said. Deputies were searching for her Monday night.
