A 17-year-old is in the Richmond County Jail after he attacked a woman and police officer on Broad Street Monday morning, police said.

Shortly after midnight a Richmond County deputy observed Quantaz Chavilez Dunn punch a 26-year-old woman in the face and then bite her face on the 500 block of Broad Street.

According to an incident report, the assault turned on the deputy after he approached Dunn and showed his badge. Police said the suspect threw the officer to the ground and then attempted to take his weapon.

Backup arrived and helped put the suspect in handcuffs. Officers said Dunn bit one of the officers before they put him on the ground to regain control.

En route to the sheriff’s office, the suspect threatened the deputy and said there would be a “fourth funeral” for a local policeman.

The victim told deputies Dunn was angry for an unknown reason when he started hitting her in the face.

Dunn has been charged with battery and two counts of obstruction of a law enforcement officer.
