A man was fatally shot around 9 p.m. Sunday in a parking lot at River Glen Apartments at East Boundary and Telfair Street, according to Richmond County sheriff’s Lt. Paul Johnson.
The victim was identified as Truemaine Jones, 27. Richmond County Deputy Coroner Johnny McDonald said it appeared that Jones was shot in the face.
According to a statement released this morning by investigators, deputies responded to the rear parking lot behind the A and B building at 201 East Telfair Street at 9:11 p.m. and found Jones, of the 200 block of Japonica Avenue.
"This investigation is in its early stages and no further information will be released at this time," Lt. Blaise Dresser said in a statement this morning.
It is Richmond County’s seventh murder of 2012.
Lord, have mercy on this latest victim of Man's inhumanity to his own.
Is this the seventh murder for the year? It's only February. This is sad.
Dangerous place with dangerous people. Lots of drugs, lots of crime, lots of people who could care less what they do to others. Sad for the good people that live there.
Feel bad.for those who can't escape places like this, the kids are.the.elderly must be.and should be protected when they.have to.live in such.areas
