Bond was denied Friday for two men charged with a string of gas station robberies from October through January.
A third co-defendant, Asia Lewis, who the prosecution said served as a lookout in one robbery, was granted a $25,000 bond.
Assistant District Attorney Justin Jones named Steven Cross and Terrell Johnson as the men who held up four gas stations at gunpoint with a lever-action rifle.
Cross was arrested Jan. 4 when deputies were sent to his house to investigate someone firing a rifle in his front yard. While he was in custody on a charge of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, investigators matched the rifle to the one used in the robberies, Jones said.
Cross said the robberies were Johnson’s idea, and Johnson claimed the opposite, Jones said.
Both are charged with four counts of armed robbery and four counts of possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime. Cross
was given an additional four counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Lewis was charged with armed robbery after Jones said she gave the all-clear on the second robbery.
Are they referring to the robbery at the Circle K on Old Evans Road as one of the 4? I figure no with arraignment in RC but jez askin.
