An Augusta man is recuperating at a hospital after he was stabbed repeatedly by his stepson Monday evening.

According to Richmond County sheriff’s Lt. Blaise Dresser, Dave Singleton, 17, grabbed a large kitchen knife and chased his stepfather Frederick Freeman after an argument in their home on the 2400 block of Bristol Place Court around 8:40 p.m.

Freeman was transported to the hospital with stab wounds to his head, arms and torso.

Dresser said Freeman has undergone surgery and is in stable condition.

Singleton has been booked into the Richmond County Jail on charges of possession of a knife during the commission of a crime and aggravated assault.
