Two men are in the Richmond County Jail after they were seen entering unlocked vehicles on Big Dipper Circle on Sunday morning.

Anthony Charles Hatfield, 19, and George Dean Robins, 18, were seen riding through the neighborhood on bicycles entering unsecured vehicles from 2-6 a.m., according to an incident report.

An officer discovered the teens in the neighborhood and was able to apprehend Hatfield. Robins ran off but was in jail Monday night, according to the jail Web site.

Some of the victims’ items were found in a backpack Hatfield had at the time of his arrest.

Hatfield, of the 4100 block of Burningtree Lane, and Robbins, of the 3800 block of Old Waynesboro Road, face five counts of entering an automobile.

Well, at least they weren't breaking out the windows to enter the autos which would have costs the victims even more.

In Georgia, Entering an Auto

In Georgia, Entering an Auto is a felony. The theft is a lesser included charge. No theft has to actually take place to be charged with entering an auto. It is a felony regardless of the amount to theft. Robbery is solely a person to person crime. Burglary deals with breaking into residences, businesses, etc.

it could only be a robbery

it could only be a robbery charge if he took the items from a person.not a vehicle. since it was a car, its entering a vehicle charge which is better anyways like casper22 stated for an adult at 19 .

david, you're wrong. It all starts with fart machines, and goes downhill from there! Once you get that fart "high", then you spend the rest of your life trying to achieve it again. It's horrible! JUST SAY NO TO FART!

Patty, Burning Tree is in Goshen and not quite in the hood. Nice middle class homes. Anyway, whatever they are I am glad they were caught. They were a long way from Goshen.

Actually Patty, you couldn't be more wrong. He has both of his parents as well as step-parents. His parents divorced in 1999. He grew up in an above middle class neighborhood in Texas.

Wow guys...I threw in a bit of sarcasm...my comment is the stereotypical comment I hear when the accused is an African-American male. Just goes to prove that anyone from any demographic can be criminal.
