Two men were jailed Tuesday for irrigation thefts around Burke County.

Bobby Tremaine Douse and Kelvin Demarcus Stone turned themselves in to the jail Tuesday, according to an e-mail from Burke County sheriff’s Sgt. Dedric Smith.

Douse and Stone were originally charged with stealing copper wire Dec. 27 from an irrigation system off Georgia Highway 24 West near the Burke-Jefferson county line. Smith said investigators have linked the pair to other irrigation thefts, and they face 10 felony counts of theft by taking. Additional charges are pending as the investigation continues.

Finally! They have snagged at

Finally! They have snagged at least two of these copper bandits. These guys are gonna feel the wrath of the CSRA coming down on them.
I suspect they are going to be the non-official spokesmen/representatives of all of our regional copper crooks. I'm glad I am not either one of them!
