Burglar steals jewelry, cash from Augusta home

A burglar stole $2,000 in cash and jewelry from an Augusta home Friday.

Vishal Doshi, of the 100 block of Arborside Drive, told deputies a thief removed a screen from a rear bedroom window climbed through it sometime between 6 a.m. and 11 p.m. The burglar removed several plastic storage bins from the bedroom and threw them out the window, according to a Richmond County Sheriff’s report.

The burglar ransacked the storage containers, removing an 18-inch pearl necklace, silver necklace, gold necklace and $1,000 in cash.
