A utility trailer with a lawn mower inside was stolen from an Augusta residence Friday.

Marie Katrina Diggs, of the 2200 block of Boykin Road, told police someone stole her utility trailer, which was in her back yard. Inside it was a yellow and white Cub Cadet lawn mower, according to a Richmond County Sheriff’s report.

The report valued the trailer at $600 and the mower at $900.

They came up into my yard and cut the tiedowns on my trailer, let down the gate and stole my John Deer Lawn Tractor right out of my drive. Left the trailer. It was an all aluminum and worth more than the lawn mower. I hope they stick their foot under the deck by mistake.

If you want to secure

If you want to secure something in South Augusta you either need to hire Blackwater USA or do some armed patrolling yourself....which is what I do. I rarely see the cops patrolling the area at night out this way (and believe me, I am out watching) but I noticed the speed cops writing someone a ticket in front of my house yesterday afternoon. They can take your money during daylight but they can't protect you after dark. Yes, I know they are not fully funded and short handed, but maybe we need more crime prevention cops and less speed cops. I'd rather they catch one thief committing a crime than a 100 speeders. It's a resource management and priority thing. Oh I forgot. Countyman and the Sheriff say that crime is down. We on the south side salute you. Don't change a thing.

I guess that the visibility

I guess that the visibility of a traffic stop doesn't count as policing. I also guess that traffic "cops" traffic stops never reveal other crimes. The minute the traffic "cops" stop patrolling, you will probably complain about the speeders in your neighborhood.

Those who haven't received a "fair shot and fair share" probably believe your insurance will just get you a replacement item.

And that's only fair according to the libs -- both you and the thief now have a mower, or a trailer, or both! Trickle down wealth redistribution at work.
