Aiken County authorities were seeking Dustin Moxley, 20, of Warrenville, after police say he shot his 33-year-old girlfriend in the cheek early Monday morning at her home in the 300 block of Old Carline Road.

Moxley was discovered about 11:30 a.m. Tuesday after investigators stopped a suspicious vehicle while patrolling Huber Clay Road, according to a news release.

Moxley is being held at the Aiken County Jail on charges of attempted murder and possession of a weapon during the commission of a crime.

The victim was treated for injuries that were not life-threatening. Authorities think the shooting was intentional and are still investigating the reasons behind the shooting.
