An air-conditioning unit valued at $5,000 was reportedly stolen from a Broad Street business this weekend.

David Ransom Timmerman, the owner of East Georgia Hearing Aid Services at 1363 Broad St., told officers he saw the unit when he left at 5:30 p.m. Friday, and an employee noticed it missing at 5 p.m. Sunday, according to a Richmond County sheriff’s report.

Deputies noticed parts of the air conditioner had been cut and removed from the back yard.
